Megan Ryley, Designer
Meg has always been intensely creative. As a child, she would pick up a Barbie doll and her mother’s scarf and turn the doll into an African queen wrapped in purple striped silk. Or build a secret clubhouse with her sister using cushions, blankets and colorful findings. These early musings later manifested themselves in drawing, painting and sculpture. But it was her love of travel, creativity and the story told with cloth that set her on a path to being a designer.
With a passion for the arts and design, Meg settled in New York City and earned her degree from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology with additional training from Polimoda in Florence, Italy. With an internship at Oscar de la Renta under her belt and a concentration in couture dress making, she went on to work for the American Couture house “Maggie Norris”. Working with the most exquisite materials in the world and couturiers in Paris solidified her love of the beauty and fantasy created by fashion. During her career she has traveled extensively throughout the globe sourcing and seeking out artisans, experience that drives the creation of her collection each season. Visits to weaving houses and block printing studios, watching hand embroiderers draw a tale in beads and thread, are all part of her inspiration.
Divine Life of Ryley is a collection designed around a passion for experience, beautiful cloth and amazing color. Each collection has a history, and an inspiration or story drawn from the intense colors of the world, travels to distant places, and the happenings of life. All of these inspirations are pulled together and wrapped up in a simply beautiful, modern design with amazing quality. Sequins that mimic the glint of sunlight on the Bay of Bengal, or a shade of grey that is reminiscent of the fading light of day in New York City. Subtle details layered upon gorgeous fabrics in chic silhouettes. The collection is tailored for a woman who loves beauty without fuss. Glamorous comfort that exudes confidence and looks great no matter what destination life may lead to. |
